How should one interpret one of China’s most memorable dynasties? The Tang dynasty is one of China’s most remarkable and glistening historic periods known today. The Tang dynasty established a strong centralized state system, starting in 618 after the fall of the Sui dynasty in the early seventeenth century. Although the early Tang monarchs were good rulers over all, one emperor in particular parts from the group. “Li Shih-min” who would assume the title of T’ai-tsung. T’ai-tsung was the son of the first emperor in the Tang dynasty Gaozu. He was a bold, energetic, and powerful emperor that was determined to solve the international problems that had destroyed past weaker dynasties. T’ai-tsung was responsible for the recreation of Chinese government. (“quote source”) According to “source 1” at the top of the hierarchy was the emperor; below him were three administrations; council of the state, military affairs, and the censorate. The most important out of the three was the council of the state, which drafted policy, reviewed policy, and implemented policy. The military affairs directed the military under the control of the emperor. The censorate watched over the government and the government officials to prevent misgoverning and corruption. The new government policies set into place that T’ai-tsung had ingeniously derived led to the central state system working. The geographical area of the Tang Empire stretched across a vast part of China. Chang’an was the western capitol of the Tang dynasty, and became a centralized meeting place for traders, merchants, artist, and religious leaders. Chang’an became one of the richest and most powerful cities in the world at that time. The Tang dynasty flourished in part due to the new economic and trading ties with different regions. Trade was possible because the government maintained good foreign trade relation. The Tang Empire traded with India, Middle East, and Central Asia. Silk road connected Chang’an to Greece, Rome, and parts of Europe. This highway brought new products of trade to the countries which included silk, tea, herbs, spices and hand crafted items. The philosophy of education is individual to each person and their particular insights. The philosophy of education generally addresses: the role of the teacher, the role of the students, and the role of learning in general. Each of these areas is very important for a soon to be teacher. Upcoming teacher should have a pretty firm idea of what their beliefs are about each of the above listed three areas. Therefore, as an upcoming teacher I will be sharing my views and beliefs on each of the three areas.
I finished my bachelor of science in accounting with a high GPA of 3.75 and I took MBT courses at UMN with GPA of 3.80. The biggest accomplishment is that I had five years experience and all my previous bosses gave me very high evaluation. One of my bosses had a long conversation with me before I left his company. He told me that it was a big loss that I left. When he decided to hire me, he had some worries because he felt that I’m a very demanding and self-centered person. After one year’s work with him, he found that I was very considerate and cooperative with excellent communication skills. I knew how to listen to people while I tried to lead people. I placed my faith and trust in people when I was trusted and depended upon. At the end of our conversation, he said,” Lei, you are such an effective and smart person that I believe your capability and personality will lead you to success wherever you go.
The Development of Communist China Why were the Communists able to come to power in China? The Communists were able to come to power principally because of the policies and actions used by the Guomindang of which the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) took advantage. However, in addition to this, there were also some substantial factors such as the conditions during the beginning of the twentieth century, and various complications in the republic of China and the Japanese War (1937-45), which led to the vulnerability and insufficiency of the GMD (Ground-based Midcourse Defense) during the Civil War. Their leader, Chiang Kai-shek, lost the support of the majority, mainly peasants and intellectuals, to the CCP, which contributed to their success in war, and he was no longer able to continue dictating China. In combination with GMD's actions, Mao Zedong, the communist leader was able to take over and declare, the by then already united nation, the Peoples Republic of China.
Sanity is For the Weak, and There is a Yeti in My Backyard: the Day in the Life of That girl in Your English Class. I have heard it said before that creative people tend to be crazy. Well if life was a post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy, then I could be considered a crazy creative person. The life I lead is far from the social norm of most twenty-one year old college students. When I think of college students the key words that come to mind are: dorms, parties, studying and the best years of your life. Unfortunately my life has very little to do with all of those things. For along with college, I rent my own house, work two jobs and have no life. Even this essay; which began with the Greeks, and later inspired by jealousy was not written normally. This is not even my first essay; the Greeks did in fact eat my paper (damn Trojan virus!) So in protest of myself and in challenge; I decided to create a new essay. I tend to be inspired in strange ways. When I met a friend in between classes I noticed that she had an odd pair of boots. They were dark brown, furry at the top, and laced up. In summery they were the perfect boots to hunt a yeti, and I desperately wanted a pair. For if I had a pair of said yeti hunting boots, I could write a short story about a yeti in the frozen tundra. Thus began the hunt for a pair of yeti hunting boots, but that is a different story; this story is about me, and what happens in a period of twenty-four hours.
